City Bank SWIFT Code (Bangladesh)

City Bank PLC publishes a SWIFT code in its Citizen Charter. This page is about that Bangladesh bank only. It is not Citibank, N.A., and it does not invent branch-specific codes.

Published . Last verified against the bank’s Citizen Charter PDF: 17 October 2026.

Bank-published SWIFT/BIC: CIBLBDDH

As shown under “Bank’s Information” in City Bank PLC’s Citizen Charter (document updated February 2025), checked 17 October 2026. This is an eight-character code. This page does not claim it has been verified for every branch.

Which bank this page covers

The bank’s current name on that Citizen Charter is City Bank PLC, a Bangladesh commercial bank with registered office at City Bank Center, Gulshan Avenue, Dhaka. Older bank documents may still say “The City Bank Limited.” Consumer and corporate sites include thecitybank.com and citybankplc.com. Naming the bank here is not a partnership.

City Bank PLC versus Citibank, N.A.

City Bank PLC is a Bangladeshi bank. Citibank, N.A. is a different institution with a Bangladesh presence under the Citi brand. They are not the same legal entity. This page publishes only the SWIFT code City Bank PLC states in its own Citizen Charter. It does not publish a Citibank, N.A. SWIFT/BIC.

Published SWIFT/BIC

The Citizen Charter lists SWIFT Code: CIBLBDDH with the bank’s registered-office and contact information. For the wider concept of SWIFT/BIC on Bangladesh transfers, see the Bangladesh SWIFT codes guide.

General versus branch-specific codes

The official City Bank materials checked for this page state one bank-level eight-character SWIFT code. They do not, in those same sources, assign a separate SWIFT code to each branch. This page therefore does not invent eleven-character branch suffixes and does not claim that CIBLBDDH has been confirmed for every branch. If your receiving branch or your sending bank gives different written instructions, follow those.

Receiving-bank information

  • Account name, as held by City Bank
  • Account number
  • Branch or other fields the provider or receiving bank asks for
  • The SWIFT/BIC required for that form, confirmed with the bank or the recipient

Confirm details before you send. TakaCompare does not verify individual transfers.

International remittance context

A bank deposit into a City Bank account is one payout method among others used when sending money to Bangladesh. A wallet remittance, such as bKash, is a different path and is covered in the bKash guide. Fees, the exchange rate on the quote, and the payout method can all change how much taka arrives — see how much your family actually receives.

Sending money to Bangladesh?

Knowing the receiving bank’s SWIFT code is only one part of an international transfer. Fees, exchange rates and payout methods can also affect how much money your recipient receives.

What this page will not do

It does not invent City Bank branch SWIFT codes, publish a Citibank SWIFT code, show live quotes, or process payments. TakaCompare does not receive, hold, or transfer customer funds.
