Send Money to Bangladesh from UK
Somebody sending pounds from the United Kingdom usually wants one answer: how much BDT will the recipient actually receive? A money transfer UK to Bangladesh can advertise no fee, a strong pound-to-taka rate, or a fast arrival, and still not be the transfer that pays the family the most.
Live comparison of companies that move pounds from the United Kingdom is not on this page. It does not receive, hold, or transfer customer funds. The provider completes the transfer.

Bangladesh — BDT
A Bangladesh bank account, a wallet the provider can pay from the UK, or cash collection if that quote offers it.
This panel does not search UK providers or turn £500 into a taka payout. The amount is an example, not a quote.
Three headlines that are not the outcome
When you send pounds to Bangladesh, compare the taka on the quote. These three lines are easy to stop at, and none of them is the amount the family receives.
-
A zero-fee claim
No fee in pounds can still sit beside a weaker GBP to BDT rate. The cost has moved into the rate. A transfer that shows a fee can leave more taka if its rate is strong enough. You only see which is which by reading the recipient amount for the same pounds.
-
The headline pound-to-taka rate
The rate on a banner is not the whole price. It may exclude the fee, apply only above a certain pound amount, or apply only if you are a new customer. GBP to BDT when sending money is the rate on that quote, for that amount and that payout.
-
Transfer speed
Minutes and next-day are different products. A faster option can cost more taka, or it can cost nothing extra. Speed is worth knowing. It does not tell you how much BDT arrives.
What builds the taka the family receives
Not every UK provider uses every step. On a quote that does, the path is roughly this.
GBP amount sent, then the provider’s transfer rate, then any transfer fee, then the payout method, then whether a promotion applies to you, then how an applicable Bangladesh remittance incentive is treated. The result is the final estimated BDT received. TakaCompare does not calculate that chain across UK providers today.
How you pay the provider in the UK can also change the quote. On some services, pounds sent from a bank account and pounds paid by card are not priced the same. Not every provider splits the price that way. If the screen changes when you switch the funding method, use the figure that matches how you will actually pay.
Look up the pound, then look at the quote
People often start with the pound to taka rate today. The GBP to BDT reference rate is that lookup: a published conversion of one British pound into taka, with the source time beside it. It is a sensible first check on the currency. It is not the rate inside a money transfer from the UK, and multiplying your pounds by it does not tell you what the family will collect.
The transfer rate is whatever that provider puts on the payment screen for your pounds, your payout, and whether you qualify for the price shown. The recipient amount is the taka left after the fee and the conditions on that same screen. Keep the reference rate and the transfer apart. Only the second one, together with the fee, is the offer.
The payout has to be one the family can actually use
A UK quote for a Bangladesh bank account, a wallet, and cash pickup can show three different taka figures. If the family cannot meet the requirement for the method you picked, that quote is not the one you can send. This page does not say which UK companies offer which method.
-
Bangladesh bank account
The provider will ask for account details, and often for the name to match the account. If those details are wrong, or that provider does not pay into banks, this route is closed and you are looking at a different price.
-
Mobile-wallet payout
A wallet transfer works only where the provider offers it from the UK and the wallet can receive it. bKash is a common question. The bKash guide records what bKash says about receiving from abroad. It does not say which UK companies can pay into a bKash account.
-
Cash pickup
Where a provider supports collection, the recipient usually needs identification at the pickup point. If they cannot collect, a bank or wallet quote is the relevant one, and it may not match the cash price.
Do not add the incentive twice
An applicable Bangladesh remittance incentive can change the taka a family receives from a pound transfer. It is not safe to assume every send from the United Kingdom qualifies, or that the number on the screen is the amount before the incentive. Some quotes already include it. Some leave it out. Some transfers are not eligible.
If you add the incentive on top of a figure that already contains it, you double-count. If you ignore it on a quote that has left it out, you can understate an eligible transfer. The Bangladesh remittance incentive guide holds the rules this site has checked. This page does not restate a percentage. Match that guide to the wording on the provider’s screen before you treat the incentive as extra taka.
The same £500 can land as different taka
Take two services and the same £500, sent toward the same payout. One may show no fee and a lower pound-to-taka rate. The other may show a fee in pounds and a higher rate. A third difference is eligibility: a promotional rate may appear only because you are a new customer, and disappear on the next send.
This is an illustration of the comparison, not a quote and not a ranking. No taka totals are invented here, because a made-up BDT figure would look like a UK price. The fair check is the recipient amount each real screen shows for that £500. Whichever headline looks better, the taka figure is the one that tells you how much the family is expected to receive.
Before you send the pounds
TakaCompare cannot run this list against live UK providers yet. You can run it on the quotes you open yourself.
-
Use the same GBP amount
A £200 quote and a £500 quote are not comparable. Keep the pounds fixed, including any amount you send regularly.
-
Check the final BDT
Read how much the recipient is expected to get. That line outranks the headline rate.
-
Check the rate and the fee together
A zero-fee label still needs the GBP to BDT rate beside it. A fee in pounds needs the rate after that fee.
-
Confirm the payout method
Bank account, wallet, and cash pickup can be different prices, and the family has to be able to receive the one you choose.
-
Check who the price is for
A new-customer or promotional rate counts only if you qualify. The standard price is the one to remember if you will send again.
-
Check the incentive treatment
See whether an applicable Bangladesh incentive is already inside the taka figure before you add anything yourself.
-
Read the final provider quote
Confirm the pounds, the payout, and the taka on the screen you are about to pay. Then continue with that provider. TakaCompare does not take the payment.
What a UK comparison is being built to show
Live UK provider comparison is not available yet. When verified data exists for sends from the United Kingdom, the aim is one view of the outcome, then a handoff. The provider completes the transfer.

Questions
Is a zero-fee transfer from the UK the one that pays the most taka?
Not by itself. No fee in pounds can be paired with a weaker GBP to BDT rate. Compare the recipient BDT on quotes that use the same pound amount and the same payout.
Does a faster transfer mean the family receives more?
No. Speed and the taka amount are separate. A quote can arrive sooner and still pay less, or pay the same. Read both lines.
Is the pound to taka reference rate my transfer rate?
No. The reference rate is a published currency series. The rate on a money transfer from the UK is the provider’s rate for that send. The payment screen is the offer.
Does TakaCompare send the pounds?
No. TakaCompare is a pre-launch comparison and referral project. It does not receive, hold, or transfer customer funds. You continue with the provider, and the provider completes the transfer.
