How comparison is intended to work

This page describes the production approach being designed. TakaCompare is pre-launch, and these comparison features are not available.

Complete transfer outcome

TakaCompare intends to compare more than a headline exchange rate. A rate on its own does not say what the recipient is likely to receive.

The key consumer outcome is the estimated amount the recipient receives after the applicable transfer economics. That estimate would draw on the send amount, the exchange rate, the transfer fee, the payout method and the other conditions that change the result.

Eligibility

An offer that applies only to some customers should not be shown as if it applies to everyone.

  • A new-customer promotion should not be treated as universally available.
  • Existing-customer pricing should be distinguished where the data permits.
  • Payout-method eligibility matters. A price for one payout method is not a price for every method.
  • Corridor and provider eligibility matters. Coverage depends on what each provider actually supports.

Fees and promotions

  • Fees should be included transparently in the comparison, not left outside the figure a person uses to decide.
  • Promotional pricing should be labeled as promotional.
  • A promotion should not be presented as permanent standard pricing.

Bangladesh remittance incentives

Some transfers to Bangladesh may be affected by an incentive on the Bangladesh side. Any such incentive should be handled transparently and only from authoritative, current information.

Not every transaction qualifies. An incentive should not be counted twice when a provider-displayed amount already includes it. This page does not state a rate or a percentage, because those terms can change and are not established here.

Freshness

The planned experience should make the age of a quote understandable. Exact refresh intervals are not set, and quotes are not available now. The intended states are:

  • Current

    Recently refreshed for the transaction being considered.

  • Stale

    Old enough that it should not be treated as a fresh quote.

  • Unavailable

    No usable quote for that transaction at that moment.

Ranking principles

Organic comparison ranking will not be secretly determined by provider commission.

Verified handoff

TakaCompare intends to verify provider destinations before treating a continuation link as an available offer. A broken or unsuitable handoff should not be presented as a normal option.

Limitations

Quotes can change. At the point of transfer, the provider's own transaction interface remains authoritative.
